A coffee-making game with a fantasy twist

Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly is a game that sees you taking on the role of a barista who must not only brew coffee but also listen to stories. Your customers include elves, orcs, succubi, and other such fantasy beings.

Not to be confused with fast-paced cooking games like COOKING MAMA Let's Cook! APK, this title actually has a lot in common with text-based games, such as Magical Diary. Its gameplay is laid-back and dialogue-driven.

Brew coffee and chat in fantasyland

Like the original Coffee Talk, Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly takes place in a world where humans exist alongside fantasy creatures, but people of all species have the same modern human problems. Your job as the player is to brew coffee and talk to characters, so you can help them in their lives.

Create a virtual latte

You are given a range of ingredients, including mint, chocolate, ginger, tea and so forth, which you can mix and match to create different varieties of coffee. You can even create virtual latte art with the game's built-in simulator. The setting may be fantastical, but the approach to coffee is grounded in reality.

A magical Seattle

While the core gameplay of Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly is the same as the original Coffee Talk, this second game expands on the series' setting of a fantastical Seattle by adding new characters and continuing the cast's storylines. You can meet and chat with an elfin graphic designer named Baileys, an orcish game developer named Myrtle, and others.

Slow and steady

Between its deliberately retro graphics style and its slow-paced gameplay, Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly is designed to be a relaxingly lo-fi experience. Those looking for action and excitement should search elsewhere, but for players who enjoy laid-back, story-driven games, this is worth a look.
